The Prime Minister of Vanuatu, Edward Natapei, remains in Sydney, after flying there a week ago for medical treatment.
His office had announced at the time that Mr Natapei was expected back in Vanuatu at the weekend.
No details of the Prime Minister's health issues have been released by his office, though an official says he had been hospitalised in Port Vila before being flown to Australia.
Mr Natapei is now expected back in the country next week.
