The Solomon Islands National Disaster Management Office says it plans to ask the government to build cyclone shelters on Rennell and Bellona.
Cyclone Ului has destroyed some homes and damaged others on the islands, although they didn't experience the full force of the storm as expected.
A spokesperson for the office, Julian Maka'a, says despite that, building cyclone shelters is an issue that needs to be addressed.
"Certainly that's an issue we will be looking at, especially for Rennell/Bellona because that's the province that's right in the cyclone path of the country as well as Temotu, but it's certainly an issue that we will need to address in the long-term, medium to long-term."
