Parents in Tonga are preparing alternative transport to get their children to school tomorrow as bus drivers are set to go on strike.
The Tonga Bus Association will be protesting against an increase in the annual license fee that came into effect at the beginning of the year.
The Deputy Director for the Ministry of Education, Siatu Vaea, says many children, especially those in rural areas, rely on school buses to get to school.
She says parents are now trying to arrange alternative means of transport.
"The Ministry, we cannot afford to cancel any more school days because the students have missed a lot of school days because of all these natural disasters; the tsumani warning."
Siatu Vaea says schools will be flexible and make exceptions for late students tomorrow as they expect many children to be affected by the bus strike.
