Guam census launched

6:59 pm on 2 April 2010

Enumerators for Census 2010 have started knocking on doors to get a count of the number of people living in Guam.

The Pacific Daily News reports the partnership media specialist for Census 2010 Guam, Yolanda Elliott, as saying about 400 enumerators are out in all villages conducting the count.

She says they'll be working every day, including evenings and weekends, to ensure all residents are counted.

The census is a count of everyone who resides in all 50 states of the United States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, the Northern Marianas and other insular areas.

The count is done every 10 years.

While the U.S. census has 10 questions that're said to take less than 10 minutes to complete, the Guam census has 75 questions estimated to take 43 minutes to complete.
