Samoa police have arrested four men suspected of carrying out last week's armed robbery of a Westpac bank branch at Vaitele industrial zone.

The arrests follow police tracking down the vehicle that was used during the armed robbery, a registered taxi.

Police, who earlier confirmed a 27-year old man from the villages of Falelauniu and Vaitele fou had been arrested and charged for the robbery, have thanked the public for providing information which led to the arrest of the other three men.

More than a hundred thousand US dollars was reportedly stolen.

The four men will be charged with robbery which carries a maximum penalty of ten years in prison.
