The work of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission in Solomon Islands is being delayed by a lack of funds.
The Commission was due to hold its first provincial hearing at the end of April in the province of Malaita, after holding its first national public hearing in Honiara in March.
It was established to help give redress to victims of the ethnic unrest which left 100 people dead and 20-thousand displaced between 1998 and 2003.
The commission's deputy executive secretary, David Tuhanuku says funding for the Commission is being delivered too slowly by the government, and the United Nations Development Programme which is administering funds from the European Union, AusAID and NZAID.
"Now it's common knowledge that when it comes to the normal process and procedures of the UNDP, like a lot of other UN agencies, they can be very, very slow. And the problem we have is that we have a very limited timeframe."
David Tuhanuku says the Malaita hearing is now scheduled for the end of May.
