MV Sili still not sailing

8:49 am on 4 May 2010

The American Samoa government vessel MV Sili has has failed an inspection, meaning it now has to wait until later this month when Coast Guard Lieutenant Ted Harre returns to the territory.

Lieutenant Harre, who left last night for an off-island trip, says the MV Sili is not ready as the government crew is still working on the vessel and therefore it was not certified.

He did inspect the vessel prior to his departure.

Lieutenant Harre says the government crew have been working very hard, but there is still a lot of work to be done in order for the vessel to be certified.
