Four people have now died from cholera in the Papua New Guinea capital, Port Moresby.
It follows revelations last week that three people had died in the city after the disease had spread from the northern provinces where it has claimed several dozens lives over the past nine months.
The latest victim died at the Kukipi settlement at 9 Mile.
The Post Courier newspaper reports a local MP, Andrew Mald, expressing alarm that the deadly disease is threatening his electorate.
He drew links between the death and the failure of the water authority, Eda Ranu, to connect water to the settlement.
Mr Mald has called for the National Capital District Commission to retake direct control of water supply.
