A new department is to be added to the American Samoa Government.
Governor Togiola Tulafono announced at a cabinet meeting that a Department of Labour will soon be established.
He said that the new department will deal strictly with labor issues including minimum wages and employee rights.
The governor did not say who will be in charge of the new department, where it will be housed or how many employees it will have.
