One of the Samoan villages most affected by last year's tsunami is to get a new school with funding from the New Zealand agency, NZAID, and the Baptist Church in New Zealand.
The ground breaking ceremony has been held for the construction of the school for Satitoa village in Aleipata at a cost for each donor of more than 100,000 US dollars.
Six village chiefs and orators have donated more than two hectares of their customary land for the new school which is expected to be completed and opened in four months.
Last September's tsunami devastated most of the houses in Satitoa, including the school.
More than 20 people from Satitoa died in the tsunami.
