The American Samoan Governor, Togiola Tulafono, has signed into law a bill ensuring that absent military personnel can register and have their absentee ballots cast and counted in the election of American Samoa's delegate to the US Congress.

The measure requests the Chief Election Office to establish procedures for voter registration applications and absentee ballot applications for the election of the office of delegate to the US Congress.

Absent uniformed service voters and overseas voters can request these documents by mail, electronically, and or fax.

Governor Togiola says the exercise of an individual's right to vote is a fundamental tenet of the political system.
