Plans have been drawn up to establish a new air link between Fiji and American Samoa.
The Chief Executive of Fiji's Civil Aviation Authority has confirmed talks have taken place but the details are yet to be formally announced.
Netava Waqa says further dialogue is expected between the interim Fiji government and the United States.
"Well at the moment all I can say is there has been some discussions both with the government and with the Civil Aviation Authority. But at the moment there are yet to be some government to government discussions to be able to give the approval before we can talk further on these plans."
Netava Waqa says a new link will further boost tourism in Fiji.
