Samoa bank robbery suspects denied legal aid

The four men in Samoa alleged to have robbed a bank have been denied legal aid.

The four men, Shane Sione Chan Tong, Faiga Victor Tanielu, Robert and Nazario Chong Nee have again appeared in the Supreme Court on charges of robbing a Westpac bank branch at Vaitele industrial zone last month.

The prosecution has told them that their legal aid applications have been rejected.

The case has been adjourned to until May the 31st.

They four, who are alleged to have carried out Samoa's first armed bank robbery, are yet to enter a plea.
