The General Manager of Air New Zealand in Samoa, Vui Ricky McFall, has left the company after more than 42 years, 14 of those as general manager.

Neither Vui or Air New Zealand's Pacific Island Manager Peter Walsh will comment on why Vui has decided to leave the airline.

Vui confirmed to the Samoa Observer that he is no longer working for Air New Zealand and his services ended on May 4.

He said he wants to spend a few years of his life with his family.

Vui started working for Air New Zealand when he was 16 years old.
