Departments and agencies of the American Samoa Government have been directed to keep their proposed budgets for fiscal year 2011, two percent below their current year budgets.
The new fiscal year begins October 1st, and the government budget will be the main item on the agenda of the next session of the Fono which begins on the second Monday of July.
The Budget Office says it will not accept any requests over the authorized grant amounts as there are no local funds to cover federal grants.
