The Constitutional Convention subcommittee reviewing Article II of the American Samoa constitution has approved the reinstatement of two Senate seats for Manu'a District.
This would increase the number of Senators in the Fono from 18 to 20.
There was only one nay vote, with Sua delegate Lefao Sootaga saying she did not agree that Manu'a should get two additional senators.
The change needs to be approved by the full constitutional convention.
