The District Court in Samoa has found a suspended police inspector guilty of five counts of indecent acts and not guilty of one count of sodomising a young male offender.

The presiding judge, Vaepule Alo Vaemoa, dismissed the sodomy charge because of lack of police evidence.

Fineaso Aimaasu was charged following a complaint by a young offender who was serving a jail sentence at the juvenile rehabilitation center at Olomanu at Mulifanua.

Aimaasu will be sentenced in a fortnight.
