The NGO, the Samoa Victim Support Group, says it received death threats, two days after the guilty verdict of a former police inspector.

Fineaso Aimaasu was found guilty last Friday on five counts of indecent assault against.

The president of the NGO, Lina Chang, says two days after the verdict her staff found death threats under the door of their main office, which is next to the main police headquarters.

The complainant and victim in the case against Aimaasu had sought assistance from the NGO that led police to investigate claims of sexual misconduct.

Lina Chang says the death threats will not stop her group from helping victims of abuse.

The police in Samoa are understood to have received the death threat complaint made to the NGO.

The former police inspector will be sentenced on July 20.
