Australia's Foreign Minister Stephen Smith has arrived in Papua New Guinea for a two-day bilateral meeting with his PNG counterparts.
The meeting in Alotau will examine plans for the development of gas fields in PNG's southern highlands, which Australia has agreed to collaborate on.
The visit will also cover how to improve the effectiveness of Australian aid to PNG, and co-operation over the Kokoda Track.
