The captain of the All Blacks, Richie McCaw, is the keynote speaker for a special fundraiser for paralysed Samoan rugby player Ben Lei'a next month.

The charity dinner at Eden Park in Auckland next month is set for August the 13th, just before the All Blacks fly to South Africa.

Another 12 All Blacks are expected to join their captain to support Mr Lei'a, a promising rugby player paralysed in a friendly rugby game for his Marist St Joseph's club in Apia.

The event, organised by members of the newly established Ben Lei'a Trust and the NZ Spinal Trust is already sold out.

The All Blacks involved are expected to donate items for an auction to be held during the dinner.
