Samoa sets daylight saving day

10:41 am on 21 July 2010

Samoa's Deputy Prime Minister, Misa Telefoni, has nominated September the 25th for the Daylight Saving Act 2009 to take effect.

The act gives the country an extra hour of daylight in the evening for a period to be declared by the Head of State.

The move is aimed at cutting the country's mounting fuel bill.
