Oceania Beach Volleyball finals to be decided

1:19 pm on 21 July 2010

The defending champions, Vanuatu 1, will play Australia in the final of the Oceania Women's Volleyball Championships in New Caledonia later today.

Henriette Iatika and Miller Elwin booked their place in the title decider after beating New Caledonia 2 in straight sets in yesterday's semi-finals.

Part of the Vanuatu team's coaching group, Steve Anderson, says while the Australians have a lot of world tour experience it all comes down to who takes their chances on the day.

He says Vanuatu have been building throughout the tournament and will go in confident.

Australia will play Fiji 1 in the men's final.

Earlier today New Zealand won the men's bronze medal match, defeating Fiji 2, while New Caledonia 2 beat Fiji 1 to claim third place in the women's event.
