The American Samoa Department of Commerce has approved a business license for Tri Marine International Inc - one of the companies that has been in negotiations with the government for the Chicken of the Sea, Samoa Packing plant.
According to the company's application, it will be involved in various types of businesses, which includes a shipping agency for imports and exports, processing, canning seafood products, and wholesale sales.
The company's articles of incorporation were filed with the Territorial Registrar's Office last month.
The application says Tri Marine International has been operating successfully for 30 years in the fishing industry.
