Barramundis keep on winning

11:41 am on 26 July 2010

Papua New Guinea have continued their dominance over an Australian Indigenous XI after wrapping up the Twenty-20 cricket series two-nil in a last ball thriller at Amini Park in Boroko.

The Barramundis posted 128 for 7 in their 20 overs, led by Mahura Dai who top scored with 34.

The tourists then made a blazing start in response, reaching 60 without loss after eight overs, thanks to some big hitting from Preston White.

But when White was dismissed for 71 the Indigenous XI faltered.

Needing a boundary to win off the final ball of the match the Barramundis captain Rarua Dikana bowled a dot ball to seal a dramatic victory.

Papua New Guinea also won Friday's opening Twenty-20 as well as Saturday's first 50 over match.

The final 50 over clash between the two sides is on Tuesday.
