The Special Co-ordinator of the Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands, Graeme Wilson, has urged Solomon Islanders to respect each other's democratic rights when taking part in this weeks' national elections.

Mr. Wilson says RAMSI is encouraging all Solomon Islanders to make their contribution to free, fair and peaceful elections.

He says he has a high level of confidence in the security preparations made by the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force supported by RAMSI's Participating Police Force and military contingent.

He says it's important that all voters are able to exercise their democratic rights free of intimidation, bribery or corruption.
