7.0 quake shakes PNG's New Britain island

A magnitude 7.0 quake shook Papua New Guinea's New Britain island this morning.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake was centered 145 kilometres east of Kandrain and was 81 kilometres deep.

The Pacific Tsunami Center said the quake did not trigger a tsunami warning.

The National Disaster office says there are no reports of damage this stage.
