A flurry of earthquakes, including one with a magnitude of 7.2 and another registering 6.3 on the Richter scale, jolted the Mariana Islands region over the weekend.
But emergency officials say none of them posed a tsunami threat.
The CNMI Emergency Management Office's spokesman, John Takai Camacho said the 7.2 and 6.3 earthquakes were strong, but they were not felt in the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas.
A forecaster at the National Weather Service's office in Guam, Brandon Aydlett, said the quakes also passed largely unnoticed in the U.S. territory and there were no reports of damage.
