President of the Fiji Law Society found guilty of professional misconduct

The President of the Fiji Law Society, Dorsami Naidu, has been found guilty of seven charges of unsatisfactory professional conduct and professional misconduct.

However, the Commissioner who heads the Independent Legal Services Commission, John Connors, has dismissed seven other charges , while two separate charges were withdrawn by the Chief Registrar and also dismissed.

Fiji Village reports the complaints relate to matters such as bills, and information to clients.

The matter has been adjourned for mitigation before the penalties are handed down by the Legal Services Commissioner.
