A Samoan company hopes to be able to export honey and nonu powder and juice to China after all its 120 bottles of honey were sold at the recent trade expo in Shanghai.

The production manager of CCK Trading Company, Shane Sanft, says its product was popular because its honey was pure and without additives.

Representatives of companies in China are now expected to visit Samoa next month for further talks over the products.

This comes as Samoa's Beekeeping Association is campaigning to attract more youth as it tries to increase the number of hives from 450 to 5,000.

Beekeepers say the diseases that plague bees overseas do not exist in Samoa.
