The new Solomon Islands Prime Minister, Danny Philip, says he's confident that his coalition can provide stable government.
Mr Philip spoke after the veteran politician Snyder Rini accepted the Planning Ministry.

"Danny Philip says it's a difficult exercise to keep six to eight political groupings together. After swearing in all but three Ministers last week, the tussle over who should take over the Finance portfolio was settled with Gordon Darcy Lilo being appointed. Mr Rini says he will stay loyal to the Danny Philip Government. The vital Police Ministry however remains vacant."
