A political lobby group in the Cook Islands is running a series of meetings to give the public the opportunity to hear from politicians first hand.
A spokesperson for the recently reformed, Group for Political Change, Lynsay Francis, says she believes this is the first time such a forum has been organised.
She says the issues up for discussion on Wednesday night are centred on political reform:
"It's the first time such a forum has been held where you are inviting the different candidates to dialogue with the public and the invitations that have gone out, we are trying to get a mix of candidates from the outer islands and also Rarotonga."
Lynsay Francis says the Group for Political Change has indications from some MPs in the southern group that they support a reduction in the number of seats in parliament.
