Home side impresses at Oceania Tennis Championships

Home-town hopes have dominated day two at the Oceania Tennis Championships in Noumea.

New Caledonia won the women's teams final after Elodie Dietrich beat Abigail Tere-Apisah from the West-Pacific team 6-3 6-1, while compatriot Anaève Pain saw off Marcia Tere-Apisah 6-2 6-3.

Pavlina Nola and Katarina Hunia both had wins to give New Zealand third place ahead of Australia, while East Oceania finished fifth ahead of Tahiti.

In the men's draw the New Zealand team claimed top spot with a 2-1 win over Australia in the final, while New Caledonia beat East Oceania, also by two games to one.
