The public prosecutor in Fiji has dropped charges against a former Assistant Police Commissioner, Berenado Daveta, and a former Director Special Branch, Rusiate Tudravu.

The two had been suspended for insubordination and inciting other police officers to try and remove a former police commissioner, Commodore Esala Teleni, from office.

They were later dismissed from their jobs.

The Suva High Court registry has told FBC News that the prosecution has dropped the charges.

Last month, Commodore Teleni resigned.
