The Fiji Court of Appeal has ruled that lawyer Abhay Singh be struck off the roll of legal practitioners in Fiji for 10 years.

According to FBC News, the Independent Legal Services Commission had convicted Singh of professional misconduct in 2006 for perverting the course of justice.

It says he was subsequently jailed for 12 months and the Commission ordered that Singh be struck off the roll of practitioners.

However following an appeal from Singh the Court of Appeal agreed that Singh be struck off for only ten years.
