Samoa Health manager steps down

5:14 pm on 18 October 2010

The General Manager of the Samoa Health Service, Dr Stanley Dean, has resigned and the investigation into his performance stopped.

Dr. Dean was suspended by the Public Service Commission two months ago over concerns about his performance.

It is understood that those concerns include salary increases Dr Dean approved.

Dr Dean confirmed his resignation to the Samoa Observer but declined to give further comment.

The newspaper also quotes Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sailele saying that the investigation of Dr Dean has been discontinued now that he has resigned.
