The US secretary of state, Hillary Clinton, is due to arrive in Papua New Guinea tomorrow
Mrs Clinton's day-long visit is keenly awaited by those championing 22 extra seats for women only in PNG's parliament.
She's expected to meet marginalised women as well as those in power in a visit billed as highlighting the importance of empowering women.
A women's rights activist and educator Maria Kopkop says it's hoped Mrs Clinton's visit will send a powerful message to a traditionally male dominated society.
"She's a big, big in the politics of the world. It'll have some spark over us as well, women here having her with us."
