Four people missing in a 4 metre aluminium boat since last Sunday have been found safe and well almost a week later, near Kiribati, following an internationally-coordinated rescue mission.
A New Zealand air force Orion and a United States Coast Guard cutter located the four on Saturday.
They were treated for mild hypothermia, ulcerations and malnourishment.
The four then boarded the USCG helicopter and were taken to Butaritari village.
They were greeted by a large crowd, including the Minister for Education, the mayor and a local MP.
