Reports from Fiji say some shops have continued to defy Commerce Commission instructions on the price they may charge for a range of basic items by withholding stock from supermarket shelves.
The regulations were to come into force last Saturday and prescribe the cost of 23 household commodities.
However, some retailers have said they would be incurring a loss if they adhered to the instructions.
According to the Fijivillage website, among the items withheld in several Suva supermarkets are powdered milk, lamb chops and corned beef.
