The 2010 Miss South Pacific pageant has begun in Port Moresby in Papua New Guinea.
11 young women are competing in this year's pageant from Fiji, Solomons, Tokelau, Tonga, Samoa, American Samoa, Niue, Hawaii, Cook Islands, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.
The entrants will be judged in traditional wear, talent, sarong and interview sections.
The winner will be crowned on Saturday.
Fiji's Merewalesi Nailatikau is the reigning Miss South Pacific.
