Jobs in American Samoa to go once shopping centre closes

12:10 pm on 2 December 2010

In American Samoa, twenty people will lose their jobs when businesses now occupying the Nuu'uli Shopping Centre close after the holidays.

Last month the High Court ruled that the shopping centre's owner, Tom Drabble didn't have a valid lease to the Lagafuaina family land on which his business complex is built and ruled he has to remove it by February 2011.

Only Transpac Corporation will be reopened at what is now the Tool Shop Store in Tafuna.
