Vanuatu's ousted Prime Minister Edward Natapei reportedly has plans to table a motion for a vote of no confidence against the new Prime Minister Sato Kilman.
The move comes after a new-look government emerged on Thursday last week when 31 of the country's 52 MPs voted to oust Mr Natapei in favour of his deputy.
Our correspondent, Hilaire Bule, says Mr Natapei has kept a low profile since returning from overseas on Saturday, but members of his party have already confirmed the move.
"The executive of Mr Natapei's Vanuaaku Party, they are working on the motion of no confidence against the new Prime Minister Sato Kilman."
Hilaire Bule says opposition MPs claim to nearly have the numbers for any no confidence vote to succeed.
Any motion would have to be tabled and voted on before Parliament's holiday recess begins on December the 20th.
