Fiji's interim Government says it is standing by its decision that it will never rejoin the Pacific Islands Forum.

Fiji has been suspended from the Forum since 2009, over the regime's refusal to return the country to democracy.

The interim Prime Minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama has told the Fiji Sun that Fiji has no plans of rejoining the Forum in the future.

He says with friends like Australia and New Zealand, there is no need to ask for an enemy in the region.
