Pacific cricketers on the backfoot against South Australia

11:53 am on 11 January 2011

The East Asia Pacific Team need some quick wickets on the second and final day of their clash with South Australia at the Australian Country Cricket Championships in Western Australia.

The EAP side were dismissed cheaply on day one - out for just 177 - with Vani Morea topscoring with 53.

Five players were sent back to the pavilion without scoring and coach, Tom Evans, says the team needs to get better at creating long-term partnerships at the crease.

"Our batting has been a bit disappointing so far. We haven't had any big partnerships apart from that one that Joe and Trevor had the other day, which was worth almost 130 - we haven't had too many over 50 really so it's been the batting, we probably haven't scored enough runs."

In reply, South Australia were 61 for 3 at stumps with Sakaria Lomani bagging two wickets.
