Indonesia to strengthen Nauru and Tuvalu links

Reports from Indonesia say Jakarta plans to broaden its internainonal relations by opening more embassies.

The speaker of the House of Representatives, Marzuki Alie, says the House supports the government's plan to open new embassies in 21 United Nations member countries.

The Jakarta Post reports the plans provides for embassies in Nauru and Tuvalu as well as small African countries, such as Sao Tome and Principe, and Equatorial Guinea.

Marzuki say it is expected that Indonesia can play more significant role in international relationships in the future.
