The Fiji Rugby Union Chief Executive Officer Keni Dakuidreketi has resigned.

In a statement, the FRU board interim Chairman Rafaele Kasibulu has confirmed that he received Mr Dakuidreketi's resignation letter yesterday afternoon.

Mr Kasibulu has told Fiji media that an urgent board meeting has been called to discuss the matter.

FBC News says Mr Dakuidreketi appeared in the Suva High court for a ruling on bail variations, allowing him to travel ahead of his court appearance scheduled for mid-February.

He has been charged with conspiracy to defraud the NLTB.
