The developer of Papua New Guinea's multi-billion dollar LNG project says it's working with the government and local leaders in order for operations at its Hides site to restart.
ExxonMobil stopped operations at the Gas Conditioning Plant last week following an outbreak of violence.

A spokesperson for the company says the shutdown involves fewer than two-hundred of the five-thousand contracted workers involved in the early stages of the project.
Miles Shaw says ExxonMobil is investigating the violence with the authorities as well as discussing with government and local community leaders the necessity of a safe and secure operating environment.
He says it's essential that concerns are managed through the formal process already in place and his company encourages local community leaders and the government of PNG to take active measures to ensure safety, security and the mutual success of this vital project for the people of PNG.
He says the shutdown will continue until the safety and security of both staff and community can be assured but the project's still on track to begin delivering gas by 2014.
