Leaders of the three ethnic groups currently engaged in clashes within the National Capital District have all agreed to stop fighting.

The PNG police say they've agreed to bring instigators of the fight as well as those responsible for the three killings within Port Moresby to police.

The leaders came to this understanding yesterday during a peace ceremony which was initiated by the NCD Metropolitan Superintendent Joseph Tondop and attended by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Don Polye.

The acting Deputy Commissioner of Police, Fred Yakasa, urged the people of Tari, Engans and Goilalas to take responsibility in maintaining peace and normalcy in the city.
