Fiji is hoping to win its first IRB sevens title this season when the side plays South Africa today in the final of the Las Vegas round after beating series leaders New Zealand 26-7 in the semi-final.
Fiji currently lie fourth overall in the standings and before this tournament hadn't advanced passed the semi-finals round.
To get to the finals Fiji also beat Pacific rivals Samoa in the quarter finals yesterday.
Fiji won 17-12 and it was a turn-around after Samoa beat Fiji in a tight match at the same stage at the Wellington Sevens just last week.
Fiji head coach, Iliesa Tanivula, says his players were hurting from that loss and his side had a lot of play for.
"We were under a lot of pressure after last week, we lost to them in the quarters and we just came back and managed to sit down and have a good talk about it and I guess the guys were really hungry for it and we just came out and did it today."
Samoa are about to play Argentina in the plate semi-final.
