Fiji connection to today's Oscars

There is a Fiji connection to today's annual movie awards, the oscars, being held in Los Angeles.

Fiji Village reports the political advisor and speech writer to the late former President Ratu Sir Kamisese Mara, David Seidler, who spent a few years in the country, has his work "The Kings Speech" being the frontrunner for Best Picture award.

Seidler got work on a 1960s TV series called "Adventures of the Seaspray", which was shot in Fiji.

His movie "The Kings Speech" is about the new King of England - King George VI of England.

It details the story of how the King overcame his stammer.
