Nauru police and the director of public prosecutions have issued a warning about the misuse of mobile phones.
They say there's been a considerable increase in reported cases of assault and the distribution of offensive material using mobile technology.
The agencies have warned that using mobile technology to threaten a person or distribute indecent material is against the law.
Nauru has had access to a mobile service since September 2009.
